Warranty Policy

At Ploutone, we are committed to providing high-quality gear that stands the test of time. We offer warranty coverage on the vast majority of our catalog to give you peace of mind with every purchase. Depending on the brand, your item is covered by either our in-house "No Fret" Warranty or the original Manufacturer’s Warranty.

1. The Ploutone “No Fret” Warranty (1 Year)

Our No Fret Warranty covers eligible items against manufacturing defects for one (1) year from the date of delivery. This warranty is managed directly by Ploutone.

What is Covered:

  • Hardware & Components: Knobs, pickguards, backplates, and truss rod covers.
  • Unbranded Hardware: Non-branded bridges, bridge parts, and machine tuners.
  • Select Brands: This warranty specifically applies to the following brands/product lines:
    • Opus Guitar Parts (Our in-house manufactured parts)
    • Nova Guitar Parts (Bass and guitar hardware)
    • Wilkinson Hardware
    • Karma Guitar Amps (Applies to pedals only)

What "Manufacturing Defect" Means:

This covers issues such as material failure, defective components, or workmanship errors that occur under normal intended use and proper installation. It does not cover user-error or accidental damage.

2. Manufacturer Warranties

For many of the brands we carry, the warranty is provided and managed directly by the manufacturer. These warranties typically last 1 year, though some brands offer extended coverage.

Examples include (but are not limited to): Hipshot Hardware, Cort Guitars, DigiTech, and Universal Audio.

If a product is covered by a manufacturer warranty, we will gladly provide you with the necessary order documentation and help point you toward the correct contact to start your claim.

3. Items Not Covered (Exclusions)

To keep our policies fair and sustainable, the following are not covered by the "No Fret" Warranty or standard manufacturing warranties:

  • Guitar Necks and Bodies: Due to the nature of wood and the variables involved in DIY assembly, these are sold as-is once installation or modification begins.
  • Consumable Items: Items intended to wear out through normal use, including strings, picks, batteries, cleaning supplies, and adhesives.
  • Normal Wear and Tear: Cosmetic damage such as scratches, dents, or finish oxidation that occurs through regular use.
  • Modified Items: Any modifications (drilling, sanding, routing, soldering changes, etc.) made to the product will void the warranty.
  • Improper Installation: Damage caused by improper use, neglect, or incorrect installation (e.g., stripped screws or cracked wood from improper mounting).

4. Filing a Warranty Claim
