The Cort Artisan Series A5 Plus SC 5-String Bass Guitar is a single cutaway bass that offers a versatile sound and a comfortable playability. The A5 Plus SC features a Swamp Ash body with a spalted maple top for a balanced tone with warm lows and clear highs. The spalted Maple top also has an open pore amber finish that enhances the beautiful wood grain and adds a smooth feel. The A5 Plus SC is designed for serious bassists who want a high-quality bass with a modern design and superb sound quality.
The neck of the A5 Plus SC is made of 5-piece Maple and Panga Panga with a Panga Panga fingerboard for enhanced stability and a bolder sound. The neck also has an angled headstock that improves tuning stability and reduces string tension. The neck has 24 frets with abalone dot inlays.
The A5 Plus SC is equipped with Bartolini MK-1 pickups and preamp, which provide superb sound quality and value. The MK-1 pickups deliver plenty of punchy and warm mids along with transparent and brilliant highs for a superbly balanced sound. The MK-1 preamp features 3-band EQ, volume control, active/passive switch, mid frequency switch, treble boost switch for a wide range of tone combinations and manipulations. The preamp allows you to switch between active and passive modes for different musical situations.
The A5 Plus SC features Hipshot Ultralite tuners that offer tuning accuracy and stability. The tuners are lightweight and reduce the neck-dive effect. The MetalCraft M bridge is a solid, high-mass bridge that enhances resonance and tone transfer. The bridge has a dual string loading system that allows you to load the strings either through the body or from the top to find the best optimal string tension, resulting in enhanced sustain, greater playability and focused sound. The bridge has a string spacing of 18mm (0.708") for the 5-string model.
