Fishman Fluence Bass Soapbar Pickups and Preamp

The A4 is equipped with Fishman Fluence Bass Soapbar pickups and preamp, which bring the revolutionary multi-voice performance, dynamic range, and articulation of Fluence technology to bassists. The pickups and preamp offer three voices for the bass: Voice 1 (Passive) for a classic, fat and round sound; Voice 2 (Active) for a full frequency, full dynamics sound; and Voice 3 (Active with mid contour) for a funk, hi-fi scooped sound. The voices can be selected by a 3-way switch and the volume knob has a push/pull function for active/passive mode.

Hipshot Ultralite Tuners and MetalCraft M Bridge

The A4 features Hipshot Ultralite tuners that offer tuning accuracy and stability. The tuners are lightweight and reduce the neck-dive effect. The MetalCraft M bridge is a solid, high-mass bridge that enhances resonance and tone transfer. The bridge has a dual string loading system that allows you to load the strings either through the body or from the top to find the best optimal string tension, resulting in enhanced sustain, greater playability and focused sound. The bridge has a string spacing of 19mm (0.750") for the 4-string model.

5-Piece Maple and Panga Panga Neck and Fingerboard

The neck of the A4 is made of 5-piece Maple and Panga Panga with a roasted Maple fingerboard for enhanced stability and a bolder sound. The roasted Maple also gives the fingerboard a golden-brownish look for a more vintage vibe. The neck has an angled headstock that improves tuning stability and reduces string tension. The neck also has 24 frets with a zero fret for better intonation and action.
